In 2019, the India Internet report stated that the female internet user population in the country is only half of the 258 million male internet users, and ‘the bias is more evident in rural India. Indian women are 26% less likely to own mobile phone & 56% less likely to use mobile internet. This digital gap is not only evident but also impacts gender-power relations through gender-tech relations.
